Chapter 23: Epilogue

Aoko
I wake up, yawning and looking down to see Yuu, Sinon, and Sena all fast asleep on my chest. I sigh a little as I watch them, thinking about the last few days. We had searched long and hard for Fate and Nanoha, but had no luck at all. Sena felt pretty rubbish, since she had grown to like them, and last night she started sleeping on my body instead of a nearby table, just so she didn’t feel so lonely. “Morning girls…” I say with a small smile, gently tapping their heads to wake them up.

Sena
I slowly open my eyes when Aoko taps my head. “Mmm…morning…mistress Aoko.” I say and yawn while I stretch a little. The last few days were like hell for me, we couldn’t find Nanoha and Fate and it looks like we’ll never find them so we’ve finally stopped looking for them…

Yuudachi
When Aoko taps my head, I try to push her finger away a little. “Five more minutes….” I say while I try to keep sleeping. I don’t wanna get up this early, I mean…it’s not like I have to go to work or to school anymore…but still, the last few days have been too long for us… Or for me at least…

Sinon
My eyes flutter open as Aoko wakes me up, and I look over to Yuu and Sena. It’s been an odd few days, a little tiring since Aoko had Yuu and me fly around to try and find these other girls, but now that we’ve settled down it feels like I’m part of some sort of family, which is nice. “Morning Aoko…” I say with a smile as I sit up.

Aoko
I roll my eyes at Yuu, the only one refusing to get up, and carefully lift all of them off my chest and place them on the bedside table. “Get yourselves dressed, and then I’ll see if we can have some fun today!” I say as I sit up, lying a few sets of clothes down next to them. I found them when I checked back at Nanoha’s place. They are a little odd, but the costumes seem to fit the girls well enough. (I had grown Sena up to 10cm after the first night, so she wouldn’t feel too out of place with the other two)

Sena
When she places us on the table I get dressed in these clothes. I don’t find it quite as awkward as the other two probably do, since I already know about them from when I was Nanoha’s pet.

Yuudachi
‘Fun, huh?’ I think while trying to keep sleeping, but when she places us on the table I slowly get up and get dressed. “Aoko…do we realy have to dress in something like this… I mean…most of these clothes are embarrassing…” I say.

Sinon
I examine a few of the costumes around me, surprised by the…designs. “I’m with Yuu on this one, Aoko. Surely there’s something else we can wear?” I say up to her as I start to dress in what looks like a school uniform, since it isn’t too embarrassing.

Aoko
“Hmm, I guess you’re right…” I say as I watch them dress, “maybe we can try going shopping later for new clothes? I’d have to make sure that people don’t notice you guys though…”

Yuudachi
“Shopping? Yeah, would be nice… Hmm, how about a spell that makes us invisible, for Sinon and me at least. And for Sena….hmmm…” I say and look at her while I try to think of what we could do.

Sena
“I’m fine with the clothes, I had to wear them before after all.” I say and sit down. “As for how people shouldn’t notice us, the shrink gun has a setting for that.” I say and explain it to Aoko.

Sinon
“Yeah, there’s a spell that can make us more or less invisible. If we use the spell on each other, we will only be visible to each other. We just have to make sure we stay close to Aoko.” I say to Yuu with a smile as I start to talk her through how to use the spell.

Aoko
“The shrink ray can do that? Cool!” I say to Sena and go get the shrink ray. I keep it locked in a box, keeping it high up won’t work since Yuu and Sinon can fly. Once I’ve got the shrink ray, I change the settings as Sena instructs me and shoot her. It doesn’t look like it did much, but it should have worked.

Yuudachi
“Sounds fine, as long as Aoko and Sena can see us too afterwards” I say and will do what she tells me to now.

Sena
“Well, we’ll see if it worked when we are outside…” I say after Aoko shoots me with the gun.

Sinon
“Hmm…yeah, that’s doable.” I say to Yuu as I concentrate for a moment, and then start to cast the spell, “just do what I do, it should only take a few moments.”

Yuudachi
I cast the spell with Sinon’s orders and after a few minutes I can see a bit through my body. “Hm…I think that’s what’s supposed to happen, huh? I just hope we really can’t be seen by other people.” I say and look over to Sinon.

Aoko
Once everyone is ready I gently pick up Sena and place her in my breast pocket. “You two can fly alongside us as we walk if you want,” I say to them, “I mean, provided your spell works, no one will see you anyway!”

Yuudachi
“Yeah that should be fine.” I say and smile at Aoko when I fly up to her and sit down on her shoulder. “I hope you don’t get any clothes like what we’re wearing now when we get there…and don’t you dare try to dress me in something too cute..”

Sena
Aoko is so nice and places me in her breast pocket, and I try to look a bit out of it to see where she’s walking. “You know, the shrink ray also has a few other nice settings, maybe you could test them later? Just be careful, don’t shrink yourself too much or something, okay?” I say and look up at her.

Sinon
I fly up and hover next to the shoulder Yuu is on. “Sounds good by me, it’ll be great to fly outside once again!” I say up to Aoko as I follow her to the door and outside her house as we start walking.

Aoko
“Aww Yuu….I promise, you get complete say on what clothes you wear.” I say down to her on my shoulder with a giggle as I walk out the house. I pat Sena lightly, making sure she’s comfortable since I have to be careful with her. “Hmm, different settings sound interesting…I’ll avoid shrinking myself too small to use the shrink ray, if possible, but we should try some of them out later!”

Yuudachi
“I should hope so!” I say and lean against her a little. I like how it is going, I’m not a pet or anything to anyone anymore. After the past week this is realy nice now and I hope it’ll stay like this….

Sena
When Aoko pets me it feels nice, she’s as gentle as she can be at this size and I get back into her pocket after she said using the shrink ray sounds interesting. I cuddle into her a bit before I fall asleep again, cause I wasn’t fully awake.

Aoko
The day goes very well: we find a toy shop with some casual clothes that all of the girls like the look of, and then I take them out for a meal as a treat. By the end of the day, we’re all very relaxed and it feels as if we’ve all known each other for a long time. After that, we fall into a calm routine where I take care of the girls and no one has to feel like they’re owned or anything. Sena is very kind, so after some time I trust her enough to grow her back to normal. She decides she wants to stay though, enjoying our company so much, so we stay together and take care of the fairies from then on…
